Tasneem El Meshad

El Meshad's compositional style is a trademark refreshed interpretation of minimalist cubism, using this, she partitions the canvas in a highly detailed and sensitive fashion that is as compatible as it is experimental and daring, attributing to her works an almost 3D-level of depth.

Tasneem El Meshad graduated from the Helwan University Faculty of Fine Arts, specializing in plastic arts, and has participated in numerous national and international art events, having won several awards for her paintings and mural work. Her pieces can be found in the private art collections of organizations and individuals across several countries including Egypt, U.A.E., Qatar, Switzerland, Austria, U.K., Germany, U.S.A. and Canada. El Meshad is influenced by the different cultures corresponding to her upbringing in the UA.E.’s multicultural hub of Dubai where she fell in love with the vibrancy of the Arabian and Indian cultures, supplemented by her affinity for the rich heritage of her Egyptian homeland. She became a Safarkhan resident artist in 2021 after a successful debut.

Her paintings are a reflection of the chaotic world surrounding us and are a depiction of the dilemma of modern life which she contends "revolves around juggling responsibility while trying to connect with the inner beauty of the universe." El Meshad’s original inspiration to paint sprung from the conceptual representation of the fan, which to her signifies the constant twirling of ideas in our heads and how we become consumed by them. The fan to El Meshad also symbolizes the continuous psychological battle within each of us, which erupts before dissipating, just like the fan is used to moderate temperature in the room through air circulation.

Drawn to warm, strong, clear and compatible colors, reflecting her spontaneous character, Tasneem’s composition and the balance she creates amongst her works is immediately apparent. Her compositional style is a trademark refreshed interpretation of minimalist cubism, using this, she partitions the canvas in a highly detailed and sensitive fashion that is as compatible as it is experimental and daring, attributing to her works an almost 3D-level of depth. What sets her style apart is an innovative ability to communicate raw emotion by amalgamating both typical and atypical angular shapes, which she manipulates in ways reminiscent of some of the greats of the early 20th-century avant-garde art movement.
